2022/12/04 (日)15:00-16:30 「語音合成時代下台語詩的未來」 對談人:詩人李柚子

詩歌的韻律在近代常常受到作詩法規限。在希臘的語源是指水流過的聲音,而土耳其中的詩(Syril)即是指水流之意思。韻律經常有相似的一面,但不同的語言有不同的細節。在臺灣台語現代詩歌,其自由詩的實踐可上追日治,例如詩人鄭嶺秋的〈我手早軟了〉其呼詞挪用台語戲曲或是楊華的《心絃集》借漢字擬音的台語象徵詩。隨著歷史的作弄,平仄概念如同水流打在岸上被抹除而去。東洋思想家中島隆博在其《殘響的中國哲學》曾談到忘言涉及到白話文運動追求主體以透明的語言表現及其政治欲求的系譜。中島分析真誠的哲學意謂:「真誠,是自己意志的座上賓」,「從自我中出來,自然地傳遞給他人。」(自新之民就是理想的他者) 這共同核心中,所有其他人都可以被內化進一個語言方案,並成為大寫的自我的投射。但在今日各種語言深度學習的出現,如GPT-3出現,我們還得走在張我軍與楊華台語詩的路徑上嗎?百年之後還有什麼可能?拆彈將沿著當代華語語系詩歌遺忘的平仄論、音調語音試圖摩擦機器學習發出的台語殘響。

關於作者

印卡,詩人、評論人,曾任臺灣書評雜誌《秘密讀者》編委,巴塞隆納Can Serrat駐村作家、澳門城市藝穗節駐村評論人,英國灣園、UNESCO文學之都布拉格駐村作家。作品與相關評論常見港台藝文雜誌,曾任臺灣表演藝術評論台與國藝會選定的專案表演藝術評論人,並曾獲得國藝會現象書寫評論獎助、第六屆國際藝評人協會(AICA)年輕藝術獎榮譽賞等獎項。出版有詩集《Rorschach Inkblot》、《一座星系的幾何》等作品。近年來關注詩歌跨媒介的向度,如語言書寫體系、音調等元素在冷戰期與技術史轉變下的議題。

關於軟體工程師

李柚子,詩人,工程師。 線上詩刊 《P.D.F. 力量狗臉》 創辦人,作品曾發表於《好燙詩刊》。 出版詩集《孕婦》、《每日前妻》 等。 研究領域有即時影音訊號處理、嵌入式系統、邊緣運算等技術,於數位藝術創作之應用。

The rhythm of poetry has often been regulated by modern versificiton . In Greek, it means the sound of water flowing, and in Turkish poetry (Syril) means water flowing. The rhythms are usually similar, but different languages have different details. In Taiwanese modern poetry, the practice of free verse can be traced back to the Japanese occupation, for example, the poet Cheng Ling-chiu's "My Hands Are Soft", where apostrophes are appropriated from Taiwanese opera or Iûⁿ Hoa 's "Heartstring Collection", which is a symbolic poem in Taiwanese using Chinese characters. With the foul play of history, the lituraterrestrial concept of ping-yi was wiped away like water hitting the shore. The Eastern thinker Takahiro Nakajima, in his "Reverberating Chinese Philosophy," discusses Xunzi's and Zhuangzi's forgetfulness about the genealogy of the vernacular movement's pursuit of a transparent expression of the subject and its political aspirations. Takahiro analyzes the philosophical meaning of sincerity: "Sincerity, the guest of one's own will," "comes out of the self and naturally passes on to others. (The people of self-renewal are the ideal other.)  In this common core, all others can be internalized into a linguistic scheme and become a projection of the capital self. But with the advent of deep learning in languages such as GPT-3, do we still have to follow the same path as Zhang Wejun and Iûⁿ Hoa 's poems?  What is possible after a hundred years? Thiah-Tân will be along the lines of the forgotten theory of flatness and obliqueness in contemporary sinophone poetry, and the reverberations of Taiwanese language produced by "machine learning" in an attempt to rub in intonation. 

ABOUT AUTHOR

Enkaryon Ang has published several poetry collections, such as “Rorschach Inkblot” (2009), and “Hedgehog” (2014). His poems were also collected in the anthologies, Post-80 poets of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan (2013), and Evidence of Living (2014). He is one of the editors of the magazine for literary critics, Secret Reader, and a columnist on Art critics in several magazines. He is a resident writer in Can Serrat in 2017, in UNESCO Prague - City of Literature in 2020, in Cove Park in 2021, and also serves as a resident theatre critic in Macau City Fringe Festival in 2018 and 2020. ‘A Galaxy of Howness’ is his latest poetry collection, which describes the emotional changes of the post-digital society in Taiwan. In recent years, he has paid attention to the cross-media dimension of poetry, such as the issues of the language writing system, tone, and other elements during the Cold War and the changes in the history of technology.

Uz Lee is a poet, engineer, and co-founder of the online poetry zine Power Dog Face. His work has been published in Howtoung Poetry. Recently, his research focuses on applying technologies for digital content creators, such as real-time audio/video signal processing, embedded system, and edge computing.
